The supreme strategic management of these four hospitals is the responsibility of the hospital boards. They also exercise direct supervision over the persons entrusted with operational management. The hospital boards are responsible for implementing the owner strategies and fulfilling the cantonal service mandates.
For the next term of office (2027–2031), we are looking for hospital board members for USZ, KSW, PUK and ipw as of July 1, 2027.

Your track record and personality enable you to think strategically in complex issues. You have strong communication and social skills as well as good assertiveness. In addition, you have a sense for political contexts. Furthermore, you are honest, have an impeccable reputation, and no conflicts of interest with any of the four cantonal hospitals. Ideally, you are already networked in the Swiss/Zurich healthcare system.

Profile "Medical Doctor" (KSW, PUK): You have many years of professional experience as a physician (e.g., as head of medicine or CMO in a larger hospital) with expertise in the future-oriented setup of medical service delivery.
Profile "Nursing" (USZ, ipw): You are a nursing director with experience from a larger operation and have knowledge in organizational development and further development of nursing with new professional profiles.
Profile "Construction" (USZ): You are a construction specialist with experience in planning and implementing large, complex construction projects in responsible functions, ideally with expertise in hospital construction.
Profile "Finance" (USZ): You are a finance specialist with many years of executive experience, ideally in the hospital environment, and have knowledge in compliance and risk management.
Profile "Law" (ipw): You are a lawyer with many years of professional experience and knowledge in public law, ideally familiar with the political system in the Canton of Zurich.
Your opportunity
Through your committed and competent work on the hospital board, you help shape the future positioning of the respective cantonal hospital, contribute to sustainable and high-quality healthcare in the Canton of Zurich, and strengthen the reputation and trust of the population in this institution.
