What you can achieve
- Development, optimization, and maintenance of ETL processes (we use Python with Prefect) for integrating clinical and research data on SAP HANA (in-memory DBMS, 6TB)
- System administration and operation of the ETL servers (Debian) including CI/CD
- Introduction of new technologies in the data warehousing/BI environment, e.g., streaming (experience with Kafka is highly welcome) and dashboards
- Creation of technical concepts and documentation to ensure data quality and integrity
- Close collaboration with IT, research, and clinical teams to implement data-driven solutions
What you bring
- Solid education in software engineering, databases, data engineering, or equivalent
- Experience in building and operating data warehouses with a focus on ETL and data integration
- Very good SQL and Python skills as well as experience with Git, Linux, and Docker
- Knowledge of various database systems (such as SAP HANA, Oracle, MS SQL, PostgreSQL)
- Interest in new technologies and innovations in data engineering
- Very good German and good English skills, both written and spoken
- Structured, analytical, and independent working style with teamwork skills
