The Communication Department's mission is to develop and implement the communication strategy of the HUG. It develops communication tools aimed at creating a valuable, differentiated, credible, coherent, and sustainable image from other healthcare providers. Through these three divisions (marketing and communication, institutional communication, and digital and media communication), it promotes the HUG and organizes information according to different target audiences (internal, external, patients).
The Communication Department is recruiting its new Deputy Director of Communication - Digital and Media Division.
Job Description
In this role, you report directly to the Director of Communication and actively participate in developing the institution's overall communication strategy. You are particularly responsible for designing the external and internal digital communication strategy, supported by a team of 6 digital communication and media professionals.
You work closely with the other two communication divisions as well as with communication officers directly connected to the field. Thanks to your expertise and strategic and technological monitoring, you propose innovative digital media (web, social networks, audiovisual, and intranet) that fully meet the needs of different audiences and users. You ensure a dynamic presence of the HUG on digital platforms and oversee proactive management of e-reputation.
As the privileged media contact, you contribute to strengthening the hospital's visibility and reputation. With the support of your team, you design and distribute press releases and press kits and are responsible for the daily press review. You may also write medical columns for the Tribune de Genève.
As the institution's spokesperson, you respond to institutional and medical media requests by collecting, validating, and compiling the necessary information. You organize and coordinate interviews, reports, and press conferences based on current events and topics to be highlighted, maintaining professional and ethical relationships with local, national, and international journalists.
As a senior executive, you support and advise the General Management and the medical department directors in their media communications and in adopting digital communication strategies.
Your leadership responsibilities commit you to unite your team and support each member in their professional development. Finally, you organize and optimally plan resources and budgets.
Qualifications
You hold a university degree at the Master’s level (or equivalent), complemented by training in communication or journalism. You have at least 10 years of professional experience in a similar role and have developed professionally in complex institutional environments. Experience and a strong interest in the healthcare sector and scientific fields are assets.
You are recognized for your interpersonal skills and your ability to develop and maintain trusting relationships with demanding contacts. You can convince your partners through your influence, empathy, and understanding of the hospital’s challenges and needs.
Thanks to your systemic analytical skills, you propose a clear vision and a communication strategy aligned with the institutional strategy. You do not hesitate to make informed decisions based on qualitative and quantitative data. In all your positions, you act in the hospital’s interest, according to the legal framework and institutional values, of which you are an ambassador. You have a strong sense of confidentiality.
In your recent experiences, you have managed teams with humanity and collaboration. On a daily basis, you attach particular importance to cohesion and each member’s adherence to the defined strategy. You organize and lead your team’s activities with insight and ambition.
