Social Worker 80%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and employs around 1,400 people with diverse professional profiles. JuWe is responsible for the enforcement of sentences and measures as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For JuWe employees, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of seven main departments of JuWe and are responsible for the enforcement of prison sentences and court-ordered measures as well as probation assistance. They make an important contribution to crime prevention and the social integration of offenders.
Within the BVD, the Learning Programs (LP) form a separate area. LP conducts targeted learning programs based on cognitive-behavioral approaches with various groups of accused or convicted persons on behalf of the public prosecutors and courts of the Canton of Zurich as well as correctional authorities from all over the German-speaking part of Switzerland.
To complement the existing team, we are looking for a committed and motivated personality for the challenging and varied field of work in the Learning Programs area starting April 1, 2026, or by agreement.
These tasks await you
- You support offenders through standardized cognitive-behavioral learning programs in individual or group settings to reduce the risk of recidivism
- You can imagine working with persons convicted of sexual offenses on reducing recidivism risk
- On behalf of public prosecutors, courts, and correctional authorities, you assess the suitability of offenders for a learning program through a structured clarification process and prepare a report with recommendations
- You actively contribute to projects for the further development of work tools and our organization
You bring with you
- You have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Work or an equivalent qualification and have professional experience with offenders
- You can express yourself fluently in spoken German and find it easy to write in a stylistically confident manner
- You are confident in your appearance and consider persuasiveness one of your strengths
- A positive attitude, empathy, resilience, ability to accept criticism, and a sense of humor characterize you
- You can think in a networked way, have a quick grasp, and are used to working precisely and independently
- You have an impeccable reputation and discretion is not a foreign word to you
- You can arrange to work two evenings a week until 9:00 p.m.
