Your team
The Corporate Functions division encompasses the non-banking activities of the Pictet group and has more than 600 employees. Managed by specialists who have a thorough understanding of all business lines, the central functions are divided into various departments: Internal Audit, Communication, Compliance, Corporate Office, Finance, Taxation, Legal, Human Resources, Risk, and Information Security.
The Group Tax department, based in Geneva, is responsible for managing the Group's tax situation, ensuring compliance with applicable legal and regulatory provisions as well as the risk control framework, safeguarding Pictet's reputation, and maintaining good relations with various tax authorities.
The Group Tax is looking for a tax expert to join the Group Tax Guidance team, primarily responsible for ensuring the deployment of tax policies across the Group's various business lines and acting as a tax advisor and guide for them by providing technical support in tax matters.
Your role
- Contribute to ensuring the mission of the Group Tax Guidance team, by supporting the Tax Leaders responsible for the following business lines:
- Banking operations and fund operations,
- Trading,
- Corporate Functions.
- Conduct research and provide advice on various aspects of Swiss and foreign taxation related to this mission:
- direct and indirect taxes (withholding tax, VAT, subscription tax),
- taxation of structured and derivative products,
- transaction taxes,
- tax reports addressed to fund unit holders.
- Perform tax risk assessments and design risk mitigation strategies.
- Collaborate with other departments to ensure that tax aspects are taken into account.
- Participate in defining the tax policies and procedures applied within the Group.
- Monitor developments in tax law and regulation.
Your profile
- University degree in law or economics.
- Between 5 and 10 years of experience in the field of taxation.
- Experience gained within a law firm or one of the big four consulting firms: an asset.
- Ability to work independently, demonstrating initiative.
- Analytical mindset, coupled with a willingness to solve problems, and ability to challenge the status quo.
- Knowledge of banking operations and the administration of Swiss and Luxembourg investment funds.
- Willingness to learn and gain a deep understanding of technical areas.
- Proficiency in standard MS Office applications.
- Fluency in French and English is essential; knowledge of German is a plus.
