The dissertation can be written in German or English. Own topic proposals are welcome in the application.
We offer you plenty of research time in the stimulating environment of the Department of History, good and transparent supervision structures, space for independent research and thinking in a small, diversely interested team, a practice-oriented additional training within the framework of the doctoral program Organization and Culture ( DOK ) as well as the possibility of additional paid teaching.

The position is offered as a 60% assistantship at the professorships of Dania Achermann (History of Science and Technology) and Caspar Hirschi (General History).
The position is aimed at research-interested individuals with a master's degree in history or related fields who wish to engage in their doctoral work with topics in the history of science, technology, and/or environment of the 19th and/or 20th centuries.
