Lead Risk Officer - Market and Credit
Job Description
You will champion the proactive and early integration of risk management into product and process design, acting as a trusted business partner and advisor to support strategic decision-making. Your influence will embed risk management into business processes, drive value creation and resilience across the SCOR Group. You will serve as a role model by mentoring and developing colleagues. As Lead Risk Officer, you will steward the Market and Credit Risk function, ensuring robust frameworks, compliance, and strategic oversight. This is a leadership role without traditional hierarchical control – your influence, clarity, and collaborative spirit will drive outcomes in a participative environment. Responsibilities
- Lead business partner for market and credit risk across all our products and businesses.
 - Lead development and maintenance of the risk governance framework for market and credit risk.
 - Set and monitor Market and Credit Risk Limits. Oversee ALM and the Investment Office.
 - Develop and maintain a suite of reports on market and credit risk.
 - Support crisis management and BCM with scenario analyses and focus papers on market and systemic risks.
 - Identify risks and propose preventive risk mitigation measures and recommend these to senior management.
 - Collaborate with other circles (e.g., Treasury, BU Risk Functions, …) and foster a risk-aware culture.
 - Lead and represent the circle. Mentor and support the next generation of risk leaders.
 
Qualifications
- Extensive experience in market and credit risk management, ideally in financial services or insurance.
 - Ability to lead through influence in a non-hierarchical, role-based structure.
 - Strong understanding of regulatory requirements (e.g., Basel, Solvency II) and risk modelling techniques.
 - Excellent analytical, communication, and facilitation skills.
 - Comfort with ambiguity and distributed authority.
 - Solution-oriented character with business acumen and a can-do attitude.
 - Passion for building inclusive teams and supporting the advancement of women in risk.
 - Curiosity to learn and adopt new tools and approaches to risk management.
