The Vocational and Continuing Education Center for Health and Social Professions St.Gallen – BZGS – trains around 3,000 apprentices and students in various professions of basic and continuing education in the fields of health, social affairs, and home economics. The BZGS is a dynamic and innovative competence center.

To complement our basic education team at the Rheineck location, we are looking for a

Vocational Teacher FABE with Deputy Function Head of Department FABE

Workload: approx. 80%

Workplace: Rheineck

What to expect

• You fulfill the professional mandate for teachers at vocational schools in the field of childcare specialist (FABE) and teach FABE KIN and/or FABE MmB
• You use the Learning Management System (LMS Moodle) purposefully to improve quality and work closely with practical institutions
• You lead and support teachers in the FABE department, promote their pedagogical competence, and create an inspiring working atmosphere
• You develop the department professionally in collaboration with the FABE department head and work collaboratively with the faculty
• You work closely with the FABE department head and with other department heads, the secretariat, and the school management
• You are personnel responsible for around 10 FABE teachers
• Other activities according to the cantonal professional mandate

What distinguishes you

• Completed tertiary-level education in social work, social pedagogy, socio-cultural animation, or higher professional examination specific to the field
• Leadership strength, communication skills, and joy in sharing responsibility together with the department head
• Broad practical experience in caring for/accompanying children/youth and/or people with disabilities
• Pedagogical qualification as a certified vocational school teacher or equivalent qualification
• Good IT skills, openness, and enthusiasm for the further development of digital learning environments
• Willingness to actively contribute to an innovation-oriented environment
