The Information Technology (IT) of the University of St.Gallen provides the IT infrastructure, end devices, applications, and cloud services and supports the employees and students of the university with IT-related questions in connection with teaching, research, and administration.
Your tasks
- Responsibility for the virtualization infrastructure and central storage systems
- Responsibility for the operation, maintenance, and hardening/security of the Active Directory systems (on-prem)
- Responsibility for printing at HSG
- Co-responsibility in the area of authentication (AD, ADFS, Cloud Authentication)
- Responsibilities and deputizing for systems and applications according to product responsibilities
- Participation in the further development/evaluation of infrastructure and security concepts in the department
- Management of projects and/or subprojects as well as participation in projects and working groups
Your profile
- Completed training as an IT specialist EFZ or comparable qualification (e.g., HF, FH)
- At least three years of experience as a system engineer
- Very good knowledge in the area of server virtualization (VMWare) and storage systems (NetApp)
- Solid experience with directory services (Active Directory / EntraID)
- Good knowledge in the area of print services including cloud, hardware, and software of server systems
- Experience with authentication mechanisms (e.g., ADFS, Cloud Authentication)
- Scripting skills (Powershell)
Knowledge in the following areas is an advantage:
- Tiering model
- Least-privilege principles
- Hybrid environment with Entra Connect
