Head of Institutions for Special Needs (a)

We are looking for a strategically and business-savvy individual to lead our cantonal special education institutions, asylum school offerings, and the specialist office for early education and integrative special education: You coordinate the development of offerings and quality, shape partnership agreements, and network education partners – with commitment, leadership skills, and creative freedom.
Your tasks
- As head of the cantonal Institutions for Special Needs, you bear overall responsibility for your department and, as a member of the management of the Public School Education Office, actively shape school and education policy developments.
- You conduct financial and quality discussions with the heads of cantonal educational institutions, take responsibility for central organizational, operational, and strategic issues, and support the institutions with questions regarding real estate, personnel, finances, and IT.
- You negotiate lump sums and service agreements with private special schools, regular schools, and hospital schools in a cost-conscious and fair manner.
- You work closely with the Special Education Department on offering planning and development issues and coordinate space requirements for special education.
- Together with the Special Education management, you organize the conference of special education institutions, asylum school offerings, and the specialist office for early education and integrative special education.
- You represent the Public School Education Office in the Commission for Social Institutions (KOSEG), coordinate cooperation with the Social and Society Office, and lead conceptual professional exchanges and conferences.
Your profile
- You have a master's degree in business administration (or equivalent) with additional qualifications in leadership.
- You bring proven professional experience in a complex environment and are a recognized leadership personality.
- You show great interest in special education and have ideally integrated this into your daily work.
- You are characterized by your analytical, networked, and numbers-oriented way of working, negotiate confidently, and navigate securely at different levels.
- You represent demanding topics with conviction, shape decision-making processes, and take responsibility in dynamic and challenging contexts.
