The position is limited to 2 years
The Epidemiology Department of the Veterinary Public Health Institute (VPHI) of the Vetsuisse Faculty Bern deals, among other things, with topics such as clinical epidemiology, animal health economics, antibiotic resistance, zoonoses, One Health, and modeling of infectious diseases.
Tasks
Within the framework of a two-year Dr. med. vet. dissertation, a research project funded by the Federal Food Safety and Veterinary Office (FSVO) on the topic "Clinical and economic impacts of the current outbreak of bluetongue disease in cattle, calves, and sheep in Switzerland" will be carried out.
The effects of the bluetongue virus on mortality, morbidity, and financial losses in Swiss cattle and sheep are to be assessed.
Requirements
Master's degree in veterinary medicine or equivalent
- Experience in advanced data analysis desirable
- Knowledge of a programming language (R, Python, etc.) is an advantage
- Language skills: German or French
