The position is attached to the Department of Women, Children and Adolescents , which is tasked with providing quality care tailored to the needs of women at every stage of their lives and addressing the health issues faced by newborns, children, and adolescents from birth up to the age of 16. It works on developing cutting-edge services and specialty competence centers.
The pediatric specialties service provides care for hospitalized or outpatient patients in the following specialties: pediatric allergology, pediatric cardiology, pediatric gastroenterology, pediatric nephrology and metabolism, pediatric pulmonology, neuropediatrics, exercise medicine, and obesity.
The position is attached to the Health and Movement consultation, specialized in the care of children and adolescents suffering from obesity.
Job Description
As a chief physician or senior consultant with a specialty title, you participate in clinical and research activities. You ensure the quality of medical services in the care units of your area of expertise on clinical, administrative, and organizational levels. To do this, you demonstrate empathy and excellent communication skills.
You conduct initial evaluation consultations and ensure the follow-up of children, adolescents, and their families in an outpatient setting. You work autonomously and efficiently on chronic pediatric obesity cases and promote therapeutic education through motivational interviews in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team composed of nursing staff, psychologists, dietitians, and an adapted sports instructor.
As an advanced chief physician or senior consultant, you are autonomous in patient care, collaborating with other team members while benefiting from supervision by the consultation manager. You will present your cases at the weekly case review of the consultation.
Qualifications
You hold a federal medical diploma, a specialist title in pediatrics, or have training deemed equivalent by the Medical Professions Commission of the Federal Office of Public Health (MEBEKO).
You possess the cantonal practice license or are able to obtain it before starting the position.
You have solid experience in general pediatrics as well as a strong interest in chronic diseases, therapeutic education, and motivational interviewing. Experience in endocrinology and adolescent medicine is an asset.
For non-French-speaking candidates, a C1 level in spoken and written French is required.
