About the job
Employee Central Office 80 - 100%Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The main department of remand prisons Zurich (UGZ) - one of seven main departments of JuWe - currently operates seven prisons for remand and security detention. One of these prisons is the Limmattal Prison (GFL), located in the district building Dietikon, which together with the Horgen Prison Department (GFH) offers 121 places for detainees. In addition to a department for adult detainees, the GFL has a strictly separated youth department as well as a crisis intervention department.
To complement our team in the central office, we are looking for a committed personality from May 1, 2026, or by arrangement, limited until December 31, 2031.
This is your area of responsibility
- Operation of the security control center on weekdays and in a regular weekend rotation
- Processing and prioritizing alarm messages
- Initiation of the security disposition in emergency and crisis situations
- Conducting access controls
- Administrative handling of the visiting system in compliance with the requirements of the penal enforcement authorities
- Coordination of transfers in coordination with supervisory and care personnel, e.g., for visit procedures and external court appearances
- Cooperation with internal departments and external partners, as well as external security services and all emergency services
- Keeping the daily journal and ensuring seamless documentation
- Forwarding relevant information, as well as participating in reports, supervisions, and team meetings
This is your profile
- A federal certificate of competence, a (specialized) high school diploma, an equivalent qualification, or solid work experience
- Minimum age of 25 years
- Impeccable reputation (no relevant entries in the criminal and debt enforcement registers)
- Communicative, responsible, mentally resilient, calm, humorous, flexible, and dynamic personality
- Technical understanding for operating security control systems, fire alarm systems, and video systems
- Good organizational skills and coordination competence
- Very good German skills in spoken and written form as well as good oral skills in at least one other language
- Enjoyment of a multicultural working environment
