The Allgemeine Berufsschule Zürich is the competence center for professions in gastronomy and hospitality. In addition, it is responsible for the basic education of various other professions and also offers courses in continuing education. With around 2200 students and over 100 teachers in 17 different professions, it is one of the larger vocational schools in the canton of Zurich.
At the beginning of the spring semester 2026, a teaching position for professional studies in the hospitality-housekeeping EFZ profession is to be filled.
At the beginning of the autumn semester 2026/27, further lessons will be available. The appointments are made according to the regulations for secondary school and vocational school teachers as lecturers.
Your tasks
- You teach the subject of professional studies in the 1st year of apprenticeship in the areas of EFZ, possibly also EBA.
- You actively participate in the development of joint digital and competence-oriented teaching materials.
- You use digital tools (e.g., Moodle, WIGL) and innovative methods in teaching and collaborate in interdisciplinary teaching projects.
Your profile
- You have a higher professional qualification (department head in hospitality-housekeeping FA, certified hotelier/gastronom HF) and professional experience in housekeeping
- Completed training as a professional studies teacher in a part-time capacity or willingness to complete this medium-term
- Open-minded, team-oriented, communicative, and committed personality with high social skills
- Independent, flexible working style with high initiative
- Proficient use of IT tools
- Advantageous: English language diploma C1
