Medical Secretary at the Dermatology and Venereology Department
The Dermatology and Venereology Department of the CHUV is recruiting a medical secretary at 80%, on a permanent contract, for a start date of May 1, 2026.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, research, and education.
Attached to the Department of Medicine, the Dermatology and Venereology Department is a reference center for the management of skin, nail, and hair diseases. It offers outpatient consultations and surgeries, specialized treatments, laboratory analyses (mycology, histopathology), as well as inpatient care.
The department stands out for a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach and clinical excellence supported by the latest advances in medical research.
In a context of strong development and reorganization, we are recruiting a medical secretary for desk and back-office activities (50/50 split).
Reporting to the service administrator, you will join the administrative team and actively contribute to the smooth running of the outpatient clinic.
Mission
🔹 Backoffice (in collaboration with two secretaries)
- You ensure the quality, formatting, and sending of medical reports as well as hospital discharge letters
- You manage phone calls and emails with professionalism and kindness
- You handle the sending and follow-up of insurance coverage requests
- You participate in document archiving and ensure proper maintenance of patient files
- You coordinate administrative requests from insurance companies and institutional bodies
- You provide overall administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the department.
🔹 Outpatient clinic desk
- You provide a professional and welcoming reception for patients
- You organize appointment scheduling
- You prepare files for consultations and ensure their archiving.
Profile
- You hold a diploma as a medical secretary or an equivalent qualification
- You have about 2 years of experience in a medical environment
- You are dynamic, flexible, punctual, and have an excellent sense of service
- You demonstrate responsibility, good prioritization skills, and proactivity
- You have excellent stress resistance and enjoy teamwork
- You master French perfectly and have excellent spelling
- You are proficient with common office tools (Microsoft Office suite)
- Knowledge of CHUV-specific tools is an asset.
