The Department of Security and Justice (SJD) is the competence center for public security in the canton of St. Gallen. It employs around 2000 staff who work in six different offices as well as in the General Secretariat. The General Secretariat provides central services for the entire department, including in the areas of personnel, legal services, finance, IT, and real estate.

Staff Member of the Secretary General (m/f/d)

What to expect
If interested and suitable, there is the possibility to take over the deputy role of the Secretary General and thus also assume more leadership responsibility.
- You support the Secretary General in the strategic-operational development and management of the departmental priorities as well as in the implementation of overarching controlling requirements
- In handling political initiatives, consultations, and co-reports, you take overall coordination and collaborate on selected subject areas
- You coordinate the department's external and internal communication, take on the content preparation of various communication forms, and contribute to the further development of corporate communication
- In the area of integral security, you develop fundamental measures and ensure their implementation
- You participate in working groups and projects, including legislative projects, and may take on their leadership
- You support business analyses, the modeling of business processes, and organizational development at the General Secretariat level
- By creating concepts, documentation, statements, and presentations, you relieve the Secretary General in various subject areas
What distinguishes you
- University or university of applied sciences degree or comparable education, preferably in law, political science, or business administration
- Experience in business analysis, project work, and communication or willingness to develop further in these areas
- Interest in political affairs and the associated processes
- Ability to articulate and present complex issues and contexts in writing
- Independent, structured working style as well as contemporary ICT user skills
- Trustworthy and integral personality who enjoys interdisciplinary collaboration
