zentras , Road Operations, is a department of the Traffic and Infrastructure Service (vif). It is responsible for the operational and structural maintenance of the Lucerne cantonal roads as well as the national roads in the cantons of Lucerne, Obwalden, Nidwalden, and Zug. Across the entire network, zentras takes on various tasks such as winter service, cleaning, green space maintenance, electrical and structural maintenance, and technical services. Around the clock – 365 days a year – zentras also supports emergency services (police and fire brigade) in case of accidents and other incidents.

Your tasks
- Safety, cleanliness, and maintenance – you ensure this together with your team on our national roads. You set up signage, clean roadways, and maintain hedges and green areas on road embankments.
- During inspection drives or in case of incidents, you are quickly on site. You repair minor damages directly on site to ensure traffic runs safely again.
- In winter, you are part of the deployment team. With plow and spreading vehicles, you ensure that the roads remain safely passable even in snow and ice.
- Early in the morning, evening, or night – deployments outside regular working hours are part of your varied job.
Your profile
- You have a vocational training in construction, forestry, horticulture, transport, or metal construction – or in a similar field.
- Independent and careful work is natural for you – at the same time, you know how important teamwork is for success.
- Flexibility is part of your daily routine, even when deployments outside regular working hours or on-call and standby duties are required.
- You hold a category B driving license – ideally also C/CE.
