Automation Technician at the Construction Department
The Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety Department of the CHUV is looking for an automation technician for its Measurement, Control, Regulation (MCR) workshop at an activity rate between 80% and 100% to complete its team. The starting date is scheduled for February 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the 5 Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, CHUV plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Construction, Engineering, Technical and Safety Department of CHUV (CIT-S) has as its main activities operation, maintenance, construction, engineering, technical assistance, and consulting.
The 3 main missions of CIT-S:
- Construction and modernization: ensure the study and realization of architectural projects, as well as the renovation of technical installations
- Operation: ensure the maintenance of all technical and biomedical equipment, as well as the infrastructures of CHUV and its affiliates. Guarantee the production and distribution of fluids and energies necessary for all medical, research, technical, and administrative activities
- Protection and safety: ensure the protection of property and people.
You will have the opportunity to ensure the proper functioning of a constantly evolving technical park. More specifically, you will work on cutting-edge systems such as pharmaceutical manufacturing areas or operating rooms.
Mission
- You ensure the corrective and preventive maintenance of HVAC regulation installations (heating, ventilation, sanitary, electricity)
- You replace or modify small or medium-sized installations and adapt the programming of controllers following a defined logical architecture
- You ensure their proper functioning, controlling consumption and guaranteeing the safety and compliance of the installations
- You autonomously diagnose faults, restore installations to compliance, perform technical checks, and ensure the proper functioning of safety and control systems in your field (measurement, control, regulation)
- You contribute to the monitoring of low-complexity technical projects, notably related to Energy Performance Actions (APE)
- You coordinate and receive interventions from external companies, participate in the commissioning of new installations, update regulation plans under Autocad, and keep technical files up to date in compliance with service standards
- You participate in technological watch in your field, propose improvements in energy efficiency, and actively contribute to continuous improvement within the Quality management system
- You fill in activity reports in the CEGID tool, manage spare parts stocks, and participate in the workshop on-call rotation (category B driving license required).
Profile
- You hold a Federal VET Diploma (CFC) as an Automation Technician or an equivalent recognized title
- You have solid professional experience in the operation of technical installations
- You have technical knowledge related to hospital buildings and energy performance
- You know the standards and directives related to the activities of the field
- You enjoy working in a team in a multidisciplinary environment
- You master the following IT tools: MS Project, MS Office, CAD-Autocad, Photoshop, Access, CMMS
- You are required to perform on-call duties at home
- You live less than 45 minutes from the workplace due to on-call duty requirements.
