Software Engineer WebGIS

The Office for Geoinformation (AGI) of the Canton of Thurgau is responsible for the implementation of federal and cantonal geoinformation legislation. Essentially, this involves providing geodata for broad use in a sustainable, current, rapid, simple manner, with the required quality and at reasonable costs. The necessary Cantonal Geodata Infrastructure (KGDI) is operated and further developed by the AGI. To strengthen the team, we are looking for a committed and qualified individual as of November 1, 2025 or by agreement

• Operation of ThurGIS Viewer as well as its further development
• Application development in the WebGIS area
• Implementation of WebGIS projects
• OEREB application development, operation and further development
• ThurGIS Shop application development, operation and further development
• Support in system administration of ThurGIS IT components database and server
• Collaboration in GIS projects

• Education at tertiary level (Bachelor or Master) in geoinformation, computer science or geography
• Experience in developing WebGIS applications with web-based programming languages PHP, Javascript, Python and CSS
• Expertise in DB administration and design (PostgreSQL with PostGIS) including SQL
• Experience in server administration (Linux) as well as software version control system GIT and configuration of web services (WMS and WFS)
• Structured, responsible, trustworthy, flexible
