Romansh Language Translator
State Chancellery | 80% | Chur (possibility to work partly from home)
For the State Chancellery, we are looking for a Romansh language translator starting on a date to be agreed.
Tasks
- Works within the Romansh Translation Service and is responsible for translating voting materials, texts for consultation procedures, government decrees and Grand Council decisions, press releases, and other texts for the media and the Cantonal Official Gazette, as well as texts from the State Chancellery, departments, and services into Rumantsch Grischun and German.
- Additionally, translates updates of the Systematic Collection of Cantonal Law into Romansh, advises services on linguistic matters, checks print templates, and occasionally assists with operations related to elections and votes.
What we expect from you
- To perform these varied tasks in an interesting field, appropriate training is required (e.g., school for translators or interpreters, university studies).
- Excellent command of Romansh and German is required. Knowledge of other languages is an advantage.
- Experience in translation and interest in legal matters are desirable.
- The role also requires good IT skills; knowledge of SDL-Trados and Multiterm products is an advantage.
- The profile is completed by a strong team spirit, flexibility, ability to handle large workloads, and initiative.
