Well prepared for life – that is our motto. The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Canton of Zurich, branch office of the districts Affoltern, Dietikon, Horgen, operates a regional school social work office. On behalf of the schools, it is responsible for the personnel, professional, and administrative management of school social workers. To ensure a low-threshold school social work service, the workplaces are located in the individual school communities.
For the primary school Weiningen, we are looking for a school social worker for kindergarten and lower grades to complement the SSA team starting May 1, 2026, or by agreement.
You advise and support children, parents, and teachers in educational and social matters. You are familiar with child protection and child welfare. In cases of crises and conflicts, you conduct interventions in classes and groups. As far as possible, you also provide prevention and project work. In addition, you collaborate with the school team and other specialist agencies.
For this role, we require a completed degree in social work at the university of applied sciences level. Several years of professional experience in school social work or in the socio-educational field with children, preferably in kindergarten or lower school age, are desired. You have skills in counseling, prevention, crisis intervention, and project work as well as an independent and interdisciplinary working style.
We offer you a varied, interesting, and independent activity with annual working hours (compensation for school holidays through increased workload during school time). You will receive support from a professional, collegial team and can expect lively professional exchange and networking with other school social workers. The employment conditions correspond to the cantonal guidelines.
