We, the Regional Repair, abbreviated RIS, are the specialists for repair services in the entire network infrastructure of Deutsche Bahn AG. Thus, we are both partners and internal service providers for the respective network areas. Our business location in Karlsruhe largely covers the federal states of Baden-Württemberg, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland, and a small part of Bavaria. In our organizational unit Oberbauschweißen, we mainly take care of repair and welding work on the track or in the track area. Responsibilities As a track work vehicle driver, you support the track construction teams with repair work on the track at various construction sites in your region. We are looking for you as a career changer as soon as possible for the position of track work vehicle driver (m/f/d) for the regional repair of DB InfraGO AG at the Esslingen am Neckar location. What to expect during retraining: The retraining lasts about 8 months and takes place full-time (39 hours/week). It consists of theoretical and practical teaching sections. You will first learn all practical knowledge in track construction. Then you will acquire the train driver license for operating the two-way excavator. The qualification takes place at one of our locations (Berlin, Duisburg, Chemnitz, Nuremberg). The workplace after qualification is Esslingen. You will receive modern training, including the use of simulators and tablets. After your retraining, you will take on the following tasks: You are responsible for the safe and proper operation of track work vehicles such as two-way excavators and other track-guided construction machines in the area of track superstructure and substructure. You will carry out superstructure work, such as inspection, maintenance, and repair work on the track facilities (e.g., rails, sleepers, track bed) together with your team. The work starts and ends at your central base, where all necessary materials and vehicles are provided to you, so you will be deployed close to your place of residence every day. Qualifications Your profile: You have completed vocational training, ideally in a commercial-technical field, e.g., as a track builder, road builder, construction mechanic, industrial mechanic, and have experience operating excavators or other construction equipment. You bring enthusiasm for track infrastructure and enjoy working in a team. You are at least 20 years old and willing to prove your medical and psychological suitability for operational service (fitness is checked by a company doctor during hiring). You are willing to work shifts (early, late, weekend, holiday work) and have a class B driving license. Very good German language skills in spoken and written form complete your profile. Good knowledge of the German language in spoken and written form (B2 level with proof) as well as a valid class B driving license complete your profile.
