Correctional Services and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for penal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Pöschwies Correctional Facility (JVA) is one of seven main departments of JuWe. The JVA Pöschwies, with 399 places, is the largest closed correctional facility for men in Switzerland. It fulfills a central state function and, according to legal mandate, is responsible for the resocialization of prisoners and the protection of the public.
We are looking for a responsible and reliable person with high social competence to start immediately or by arrangement.
This is your field of activity
- With your service dog, you monitor the entire area of the JVA Pöschwies and contribute significantly to the security of the institution
- You assist with interventions as well as prisoner transports within the JVA
- Controlling incoming and outgoing vehicles and their drivers is also part of your duties
- You support other work areas, especially the central office, within the department and the entire JVA
What you bring
- You have completed vocational training with a federal certificate of competence, (specialized) Matura, specialized middle school certificate, or an equivalent qualification
- You bring a high degree of independence, performance capability, and a pronounced sense of responsibility
- You have experience in the service dog field and own a protection dog. You have already completed training as a protection service assistant
- You are mentally and physically resilient, and changing working hours (weekend shifts, night shifts, and holidays) are compatible with your other commitments
- You have very good oral and written German skills and ideally knowledge of another language
- You are proficient in using the MS Office suite
- You have an impeccable reputation and are at least 25 years old
