The Migration & Integration Department of French-speaking Switzerland - a branch of Caritas Switzerland in Fribourg - is responsible for the support and integration of recognized refugees in the canton of Fribourg on behalf of the State. The Integration Service is a multidisciplinary service composed of 30 people distributed across 5 Domains. The Service's mission is to promote the sustainable professional and social integration of refugees. The professionals support beneficiaries individually and in groups to assess their needs and skills, develop personalized measures, and coordinate work with other Services and external partners. In addition to the work carried out by the professionals, about forty volunteers participate in support and integration actions for refugees.
In this context, we are looking for a Volunteer Domain Coordinator whose main tasks will be to coordinate volunteer actions, develop services and projects, and recruit new volunteers.
Your tasks
- Supervise, monitor, and recruit volunteers
- Organize and ensure the implementation of duo support (volunteers - refugees)
- Organize and guarantee the implementation of activities and outings (sports and cultural) of the Volunteer Domain, in collaboration with volunteers
- Develop volunteer services and projects
- Manage allocated budgets
- Perform other administrative tasks related to the role (statistics, contracts, certificates, etc.)
- Collaborate with other Domains of the Integration Service and within the Department
- Collaborate with the associative, social, and entrepreneurial network
- Promote the activities of the Volunteer Domain
Our requirements
- Tertiary education in human sciences or other training considered equivalent for the position
- Relevant experience of at least 2 years in a position with responsibilities
- Proven training and experience in project management
- Experience in supervising/supporting people is an asset
- Strong organizational and administrative skills, ability to synthesize, precision in work
- Initiative, proactivity, strong sense of responsibility, rigor, and professional ethics
- High proficiency with modern IT tools (data management, project management, Microsoft Office, etc.) and communication tools
- Vehicle available, an asset (to be indicated in the CV)
- Knowledge of the economic and associative fabric of the canton of Fribourg, an asset
- Ability to work independently and also in a team, in a multicultural environment
- Native French or German speaker with good knowledge of the other language
The workplace is Fribourg (with frequent travel to Matran)
