Department Head

In the canton of Thurgau, all residents should feel safe. This is ensured by almost 550 employees of the Thurgau Cantonal Police around the clock with a modern organization and in close contact with the population.

For the Communication and Prevention department, we are looking for a by arrangement a / an

• Strategic orientation of communication and prevention
• Operational responsibility for the organizational units of the department (media service, specialist units for violence protection and youth police, traffic training, analysis and consulting)
• Content responsibility for the implementation of the department's services
• Professional leadership of employees, personnel development
• Personnel management of service managers and specialist unit leaders
• Management of department projects
• Collaboration in cross-departmental and external projects and expert groups as well as in cantonal and national expert committees
• Representation of the department in the management of the cantonal police

• Degree in communication, social or legal sciences. Additional training in personnel management, organizational development, public management, leadership, or similar.
• Police training or proven police background or several years of experience in the field of justice and security
• Several years of personnel management experience
• Strategic and networked thinking and acting
• High social and personal competence
• Above-average commitment to performance and service
• Experience in project work and coordination
