What to expect
- Technical and personnel leadership of your engineering team with a focus on personal responsibility, excellence, and team culture
- Implementation of technical requirements in close collaboration with product management, stakeholders, and adjacent teams
- Development of scalable solutions for our finance and HR systems – from idea to go-live
- Design of modular software architectures including clean interface design
- Use of modern concepts such as DDD, SCS, Micro-Frontends, and Data Mesh
- Ensuring code quality, testing, and documentation through reviews, pair programming, and established standards
- Further development of development and test environments including CI/CD and DevOps processes
- Evaluation of new technologies as well as integration of proven best practices into team work
- Systematic reduction of technical debt and active risk management
- Even a deployment on Friday won't throw you off balance
What you bring
- Several years of experience (at least 5 years) in software development, including at least 1 year in a leadership role; ideally in the e-commerce environment
- Solid knowledge in Java (+ with common frameworks such as Spring Boot, Vert.x), cloud architectures, and experience with CI/CD and DevOps
- Expertise in SQL (e.g., PostgreSQL) and data modeling
- Familiarity with modular software architecture, interface design, and asynchronous data processing (e.g., with Apache Kafka)
- Practical experience applying DDD, SCS, Micro-Frontends, and Data Mesh
- Experience in introducing and maintaining efficient product data strategies and PIM processes
- Knowledge of Team Topologies and their use in designing effective team structures
- High conceptual and analytical competence combined with strong customer and solution orientation
- Strong communication skills and leadership mentality – empathetic, clear, and motivating
- Completed studies in (business) computer science or an equivalent qualification
- High affinity for agentic coding (e.g., with tools like Claude Code or GitHub Copilot / Code Assist)
- Practical experience working with LLMs
- Interest in technology trends and active exchange in the developer community (e.g., via open source)
