Chemical laboratory technician at the Quality Control Unit in the Pharmacy Service
The Directorate of the Department of Interdisciplinary Centers (DCI) is looking for a chemical laboratory technician at a rate of 80%–90%, for the Quality Control Unit of the Pharmacy, under a permanent contract. The starting date is scheduled for January 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
The Department of Interdisciplinary Centers (DCI) includes notably the central operating block, the endoscopy center, the Emergency Service, and the Adult Intensive Care Service. Its mission is to guarantee highly specialized care, ensure quality training conditions (initial and postgraduate), and develop research projects and quality initiatives.
Mission
- You perform physico-chemical analyses on raw materials, packaging articles, and finished products, according to good manufacturing practices (GMP)
- You carry out microbiological analyses of finished products and control controlled atmosphere zones (ZAC)
- You contribute to quality system management: reports, operating procedures, non-conformity declarations
- You participate in managing laboratory reagent and consumable stocks
- You ensure the monitoring of logbooks, instruments, and equipment
- You actively collaborate in the smooth running of the laboratory and various internal projects
- You conduct assigned out-of-routine analyses, such as the development and validation of UHPLC-UV/MS analytical methods.
Profile
- Federal Certificate of Capacity (CFC) as a chemical laboratory technician or equivalent qualification
- Proven experience in physico-chemical analytical techniques (IR/UV-VIS spectrophotometers, endotoxins, particle counters, etc.)
- Mastery of chromatographic methods (UHPLC-UV/MS)
- Desired experience in microbiology (sterility testing, ZAC controls)
- Good knowledge of GMP and quality principles
- Comfort with computer tools (Microsoft Office) and quality management
- Scientific rigor, curiosity, critical thinking
- Good communication and teamwork skills, with an aptitude for taking initiative.
