About the job
We conduct technical investigations and determine the causes of accidents for all categories of vehicles. On behalf of the Confederation, in our competence center for heavy traffic Mösli, we monitor freight and passenger traffic, carry out company inspections, and focus on the transport of dangerous goods, special waste, and agricultural traffic. This is complemented by technical advice and authorization control.
Your tasks
Your main tasks as a mechanic with the Traffic Technical Section (SeTT) are as follows:
- Inspections and examinations of vehicle condition, including digital data, following traffic accidents and securing according to legal provisions
- Technical inspections of vehicles and equipment as well as traffic controls
- Evaluation and analysis of tachograph data and digital media
- Determining the condition of vehicles using specialized measuring and control devices (e.g., at the Heavy Traffic Competence Center Mösli)
- Writing reports, complaints, and preparing photographic documentation as well as providing technical advice for internal and external services
Your profile
- Completed apprenticeship in the automotive sector (e.g., mechatronics technician) and ideally further training as a diagnostician or automotive expert, and willingness to undergo ISP safety assistant training; or federal police certificate with completed basic training in the automotive sector
- Ability to work independently, structured, and reliably
- Customer and service-oriented personality, able to work under pressure, with good team spirit and liveliness
- High flexibility to perform tasks outside usual working hours
- Good written expression and good computer skills (especially MS Office)
