Regulatory and Fiscal Strategy Manager - Fiscal Manager
The Regulatory and Fiscal manager plays a crucial role in the development and execution of strategies across fiscal and regulatory issues such as Tobacco Taxation, Anti-illicit Trade, Supply Chain costs, Combustible and Non-Combustible [RRP] product regulation, and ESG factors, with a focus on market priorities and business impact.
This role requires collaboration with different HQ functions, regions, and markets, and involves working on complex projects, prioritizing initiatives. Candidates should have a creative mindset, strong commercial acumen, strategic and analytical skills, and effective communication and teamwork abilities.
Position:
The Regulatory and Fiscal Strategy manager role provides exposure and experience across multiple disciplines. The manager is expected to work on strategy development and execution, covering the spectrum of fiscal issues.
Fiscal scope: Tobacco taxation (Excise), Anti-illicit trade, Trace & Trace, Supply chain costs.
The incumbent is expected to develop insights and a deep knowledge of market and regional CA priorities, including how they impact business results and our ability to achieve our corporate vision #1.
The majority of the manager’s time (~ 80%) will be spent on specific fiscal subject matters in close collaboration with the respective director, and the balance (~20%) is allocated to working with other R&FS managers and the operations director on cross-subject projects and collaboration with CA&C regions. Every year, if interested and the opportunity arises, managers may be considered for assignments in a new subject area.
Depending on business needs and experience, the incumbent might take the role of leading complex projects of a strategic or operational nature.
Key Responsibilities:
- Drive customized excise, anti-illicit trade, and track and trace strategies for regions/markets and guide them in strategy execution in a timely manner.
- Ensure rigorous prioritization is applied to all projects, that they are aligned with the business needs, and have SMART KPIs.
- Contribute to team capability building, share developments with other team members, and, for your allocated regions, seek to understand markets’ commercial objectives, results, and the full spectrum of CAC priorities.
- Work as a team member on cross-functional projects to develop a versatile profile.
- Participate fully in R&FS team objectives and strategy setting, and be able to present the team’s goals to other parts of the organization.
- Motivate and guide the professional development of peers and provide feedback on individuals’ performance as requested.
- Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon the manager’s request.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent
- Strong commercial acumen and a track record in developing strategy and driving excellence in execution across a diverse range of issues and projects, preferably in Finance or Corporate Affairs
- Analytical, strategic, and critical thinking skills are essential, combined with assertiveness, creativity, an excellent teamwork attitude, and positive communication
- Good numerical skills, understanding of financial planning, product costs, and pricing breakdown
- Knowledge of the relationship between taxation, pricing, and illicit trade, and the importance of government excise revenues. The capability to understand and carry out or direct economic and statistical analysis
