The Paul Scherrer Institute PSI is the largest research institute for natural and engineering sciences within Switzerland. The Hot Laboratory department at PSI is an independent organizational unit that operates the Hot Laboratory nuclear facility, a unique experimental facility in Switzerland for the processing and analysis of radioactive materials.
For our Hotcell Experiments group, we are looking for a
Your tasks
- Project management and handling of national and international radioactive transports
- Management of nuclear material and other radioactive samples
- Planning and execution of fuel returns (material selection, data compilation, creation of loading plans, coordination with nuclear power plants, updating of accounting)
- Creating cutting plans for sampling irradiated fuel rods
- PSI Safeguards Deputy, accompanying official inspections, and assisting with the preparation and review of report documents
Your profile
- University or technical college graduate in nuclear engineering, mechanical engineering, physics, or chemistry, preferably with experience in the nuclear sector
- Experience with the transport of dangerous goods (Class 7 is an advantage)
- Good to very good knowledge of German and English (business fluent in spoken and written form)
- Confident use of MS Office
- Database and programming skills are an advantage
- Willingness to work with radioactive materials in controlled zones
