The Office for Youth and Career Counseling of the Education Directorate provides, orders, manages, and coordinates services for child and youth welfare and career counseling. The kjz Winterthur (Child and Youth Welfare Center) is a polyvalent counseling center for families, parents, adolescents, children, and toddlers, operating based on the Child and Youth Welfare Act of the Canton of Zurich.
The kjz Winterthur is looking for a committed and experienced person for the position of Head of Youth and Family Counseling (JFB) starting November 1, 2025, or by agreement.
The management of Youth and Family Counseling (mandate management in the context of civil child protection) is provided at kjz Winterthur by four departments. With this meaningful and challenging task, you have the opportunity to positively influence the lives of children and adolescents and their families with your team and to support them in difficult life situations.

Your Tasks
- Professional, organizational, and personnel management of a Youth and Family Counseling department with about eight social workers
- Responsibility for professional coaching as well as case and performance management
- Leading a limited number of civil child protection measures
- Department management of a subject-specific task
- Future-oriented, innovative development of services
- Contact person for internal and external parties as well as active participation in working groups, committees, and projects
- Participation in the eight-member management team of kjz Winterthur
Your Profile
- University degree in Social Work or equivalent training as well as further education in the field of Systemic Counseling and Leadership
- Solid professional experience in child, youth, and family assistance and in child protection
- Leadership experience (optional)
- Organizational and conceptual skills
- High team orientation as well as social and communication skills
