Position Goals:
The Junior Geologist supports the Geology department in projects in the areas of exploration, brine field establishment, monitoring, and aftercare. They independently take on tasks in reporting, geological data management, as well as sample and core handling.
For the Mine de Sel de Bex (VD), they work cross-departmentally on raw material extraction and geological data collection. In close collaboration with internal and external partners, they ensure the quality and reliability of the data according to the requirements of exploration & production.
What you can achieve with us (approx. 20% each)
- Monitoring & Reporting: Independent execution and further development of monitoring tasks as well as preparation of regular reports on production and environmental data
- Geological Data Management: Support in managing geological data with a focus on drilling data – including data preparation, quality assurance, and documentation
- Exploration & Brine Field Establishment: Participation in projects for exploring new deposits and planning and developing new brine fields
- Aftercare of old brine fields: Support in the geological assessment and documentation of former brine fields within the framework of aftercare obligations
- Raw Material Extraction Bex: Professional support of salt extraction in the Mine de Sel de Bex through geological analyses and ensuring a reliable data basis in close cooperation with other departments
Your qualities as a professional and person
- Completed university degree in geology (MSc or equivalent)
- Ideally, initial professional/practical experience in the field of raw materials and environmental topics
- Knowledge of NW Swiss regional geology is an advantage
- GIS skills and high IT affinity (basic programming knowledge is a plus)
- Proactive and solution-oriented, communicative team player
- Very good language skills in German/French/English, driving license category B
