As a server, you will be at the center of the excitement.

Each service is a moment of sharing, rhythm, and conviviality. You will welcome an international clientele — artists, music lovers, regulars — and contribute to making their experience unique and special, true to the spirit of Fairmont Le Montreux Palace.

Reporting to the Funky Claude’s Bar Supervisor, the essential responsibilities and duties of the position include, but are not limited to:

• Consistently provide professional, friendly, and engaging service
• Serve customers according to their expectations and standards
• Be responsible for the proper execution of setups and preparation of your area
• Serve drink and food orders at the table
• Know perfectly the drink menu, cocktails, whisky, wines and suggest to the customer
• Know perfectly the food menu and be able to advise the customer
• Prepare cutlery according to orders, fetch food from the kitchen, and clear tables in your area
• Create customer relationships
• Perfect your technical and theoretical knowledge to ensure perfect service for a demanding clientele
• Know the technical and emotional standards of LQA and apply them
• Know the concept of Funky Claude’s Bar
• Use the cash register system and place drink and food orders
• Communicate problems or anomalies to your supervisor
• Participate in banquet and event service held at the hotel, upon request
• Commit to the quality of your service, discretion, and perfect honesty
• Maintain a professional attitude, be smiling, and remain calm at all times
• Be flexible and cooperative in all circumstances, especially if required to work in another department occasionally
• Respect ergonomic work standards, health & safety rules, hygiene and sanitary prescriptions
• Respect the policies, procedures, and service standards of the department and company
• Any other tasks as assigned

• Previous experience in service
• Good knowledge of French and English
• Knowledge of a third language is an asset
• Previous experience in 4* or 5* hotel is an asset
• Ability to work in a team
• Mastery of Opera Cloud tool is an asset
• Flexibility and initiative
• Ability to manage multiple requests simultaneously and handle last-minute changes

The physical demands of these positions include, but are not limited to:

• Constant: being seated regularly during the work period
• Occasional: lifting and carrying loads
• Occasional: kneeling, pushing, pulling, lifting
• Occasional: climbing up or down stairs and ramps

VISA REQUIREMENTS

To be able to work in Switzerland, the candidate must hold a Swiss work permit or be from an EU-17 or EU-8 European country.
