Job Description
You will support the design, implementation, and continuous improvement of digital learning initiatives within CERN's Learning and Development (L&D) team. Working with modern learning platforms, e-learning solutions, data analytics, and learner engagement, you will contribute to the delivery of high-quality learning programmes and services for CERN's diverse community.
Your responsibilities
- Participating in the design, development/implementation of learning solutions in partnership with internal stakeholders and external L&D partners.
- Providing technical support in the field of e-learning creation/digital tools and Learning Management Systems (LMS).
- Assessing the impact of learning initiatives (evaluation methodologies).
- Contributing to the design of routine and ad-hoc learning reports and data analytics.
- Testing and supporting the selection and implementation of learning technologies.
- Creating guidelines for learning solutions and digital tools.
- Communicating with learners on the latest trends and learning initiatives.
- Contributing to the design of L&D communications and support to learning events.
- Corresponding with learners on general administrative tasks related to course enrolments and general course organisation.
Your profile
- Basic knowledge of instructional design principles and adult learning concepts, gained through academic coursework, projects, or first professional experience.
- Initial exposure (academic projects, internships, or first experience) to digital learning formats, e-learning tools, or training or communication materials.
- Interest in learning technologies, digital platforms, and user experience, with willingness to learn new tools and systems.
- Familiarity with LMS, authoring tools (e.g., Articulate), multimedia/video tools, or human capital management systems (e.g., Oracle).
- Interest in learning analytics, evaluation methods, or reporting.
Skills
- Ability to analyse information, structure content clearly, and present ideas effectively in written and visual formats.
- Good analytical, presentation, and problem-solving skills, with attention to detail.
- Familiarity with digital tools and platforms, such as LMS, MS Office, and digital content or e-learning tools (e.g., Articulate, Synthesia, or similar).
- Ability to learn new tools quickly and troubleshoot or resolve basic technical issues.
- Spoken and written English or French, with a commitment to learn the basics of the other language.
Eligibility criteria:
- You are a national of a CERN Member or Associate Member State .
- By the application deadline, you have a maximum of two years of professional experience since graduation in Learning Technologies (or a related field) and your highest educational qualification is either a Bachelor's or Master's degree.
- You have never had a CERN fellow or graduate contract before.
- Applicants without University degree are not eligible.
- Applicants with a PhD are not eligible.

Contract duration: 24 months, with a possible extension up to 36 months maximum.
