Is this helpful?
The Kantonsschule Uetikon am See (KUE) is a young school in the development phase. It offers a lower secondary level and five of the Zurich Matura profiles (classical languages, mathematical-natural sciences, modern languages, economic-law, and philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). The student body is just under 800, and the number of teachers and administrative staff is around 120. The location and character of the school are unique: The modern facilities at the provisional site in the middle of the community enable forward-looking and innovative teaching methods and inspire the creation of the "KUE spirit." The team is young and agile; we like to try new things. In about seven years, KUE will move into its new premises on the site of the former chemical factory directly on Lake Zurich.
From May 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for a Specialist in School Social Work (70 – 85%)
Your tasks
As a specialist in school social work, you advise our secondary school students on personal, social, and school-related challenges. You promote their integration into the class and support the school team in recognizing psychosocial problems and initiating early interventions. You contribute your expertise to positively shape participation opportunities and community building at the school. You maintain a sustainable network with relevant counseling centers. Together with other specialists, you build a stage-specific, professionally sound, and needs-based school social work at the Kantonsschule Uetikon am See.
Your profile
You are a committed individual with professional experience in school social work or counseling experience in the youth sector. You enjoy working with young people and, thanks to your affinity for psychosocial topics, have a great understanding of the concerns of adolescents. You are interested in age-typical developmental tasks and associated aspects of mental health. With your solution-oriented systemic approach, you can mediate well between different concerns. You work independently, structured, and reflectively and look forward to building and shaping the new support service together with the school team at our school. Knowledge in concept and project work is an advantage. Your communication skills, teamwork, and resilience benefit you both in dealing with various stakeholders and in managing crises.
The formal requirement for an application is a bachelor's degree in social work combined with further training in school social work (CAS) or a comparable field (CAS).
Our offer
We offer you a stimulating working environment at a young secondary school. Your ideas and skills for an innovative offer are welcome at our school – also with regard to the renewed growth of the school when moving into the new school buildings by the lake. The tasks are varied and characterized by contact with different stakeholders. For professional exchange, you are integrated into a regional team; cantonal impulse and experience exchange meetings promote knowledge transfer among specialists. You can expect an open and designable school culture as well as attractive working conditions according to cantonal guidelines and annual working hours. The school team of the Kantonsschule Uetikon am See looks forward to working with you.
