The Real Estate Management of ETH Zurich is responsible for the university's real estate portfolio. For the annual investments of approx. CHF 200 million, we adhere to the highest standards of real estate management and provide forward-looking space and modern working environments in a timely manner for teaching, research, as well as knowledge and technology transfer at ETH Zurich.
Job description
Do you want to actively help shape how one of the world's leading scientific locations develops spatially? As a Portfolio Manager in Real Estate Management, you take responsibility for a sub-portfolio of ETH Zurich and are the primary contact person for departments and organizational units.
- Strategy & Concepts: You develop long-term real estate strategies with the departments, translate complex requirements into feasible concepts, and align them with research, teaching, sustainability, and finance.
- Portfolio Management: You ensure that demand and supply planning align with the university's goals. If necessary, you initiate real estate transactions (rental, purchase, sale, building rights).
- Major Projects: You lead the early project phases of large construction and renovation projects, conduct stakeholder analyses, define vision, goals, and business case, and represent the client side in the further project phases.
Profile
- University degree in architecture, civil engineering, real estate management, or a scientific background in natural/engineering sciences with a real estate focus
- Several years of experience in portfolio management and developing complex strategies
- Solid understanding of research and laboratory buildings and research requirements, as well as building in existing/heritage contexts
- Confident communication in German and English, strong in moderation and negotiation
- Advantageous: experience in the institutional client environment, knowledge of new project delivery models (e.g., Design Build, IPD), BIM, circular economy, lean construction, or digital twin
