The Geneva Foundation for Sociocultural Animation is a partnership institution, funded by the Canton and the municipalities, whose mission is to promote and maintain social cohesion in the canton of Geneva, that is to ensure the quality of the relationship between individuals and society. Through socio-educational, sociocultural, and associative field actions carried out by centers and outreach teams, the foundation meets the population's needs in terms of meeting, exchange, solidarity, citizenship, quality of life, with the general objective of preventing social exclusion.

The Jardin Robinson du Lignon develops its reception and activities on a green area located between the Lignon city and the countryside at the edge of the forest along the Rhône. Its animation team mainly invests its outdoor space in all weather and develops nature activities such as animal care, forest walks, building huts, cycling, etc. Three ponies, a donkey, rabbits, chickens, a cat, and two turtles are an integral part of the daily life of the team and the children attending the place.
The team is committed to maintaining a horizontal organization in a system of shared responsibilities. It assumes all roles and tasks inherent to welcoming and supporting children, animal care, developing animation projects, and managing the maintenance of the site and its facilities.

Job Description

• Defend the values of the site's associative project.
• Welcome, propose, and support projects for and with children aged 6 to 12
• Convey the pleasure of being in nature with animals.
• Enjoy working in a free reception system and defend its principle
• Encourage free play
• Actively participate in the development of the activity program
• Participate in the development of the neighborhood's associative life
• Develop relationships with various partners
• Bring the site to life and manage the maintenance of the center and facilities

Qualifications

• Dynamic, enthusiastic, creative
• Sense of initiative, organization, and autonomy skills while managing priorities and emergencies
• Ability to work in a team within a horizontal organization
• Ability or strong interest in applying a new and positive pedagogy in relation to the child
• Ability or strong interest in working with animals such as ponies, rabbits, etc.
• Interest in working within a Robinson garden and its specific tasks
• Ease in networking
• Good knowledge of the Geneva social, political, and cultural system
• Candidates must hold a Bachelor’s degree in social work in sociocultural animation, HES level or equivalent title

Additional Information

• Salary according to the Geneva State salary scale: maximum class 15
• The position requires flexibility and versatility, irregular working hours (Saturdays, school holidays, public holidays)
• Start date: October 1, 2026, or to be agreed
