The translational immunology laboratory focuses on rejection mechanisms in the context of xenotransplantation and immunological research on NK cells. In this context, we are looking for an assistant professor to carry out and develop:
The main tasks of this position are as follows:
- Design and implement innovative approaches to study the function of cytotoxic immune cells in the context of xenotransplantation (3D microfluidics or organ-on-chip systems).
- Handling and characterization (multiparametric flow cytometry, confocal microscopy) of porcine endothelial cells.
- Functional characterization of human/baboon immune cells with porcine endothelium.
- Production of experimental material for in-depth scRNAseq analysis, in coordination with the bioinformatics team.
- Supervision of postdoctoral fellows and doctoral students.
- Active participation in manuscript preparation and fundraising to launch an independent research project.
- Implement the project: NK cell-myoblast interactions and innate immunity in inflammatory myopathies.
Title and required skills
- PhD in immunology or life sciences with at least 4 years of postdoctoral experience, focused on NK cell biology.
- Expertise in xenotransplantation and interspecies immune mechanisms.
- Experience in 3D microfluidics or organ-on-chip systems.
- Strong expertise in confocal microscopy and high-throughput live cell imaging.
- Experience in multiparametric flow cytometry.
- Experience in primary cell culture, PBMC isolation, cytotoxicity assays.
- At least one first-author publication in a relevant field (xenotransplantation).
- Proficiency in data analysis using FlowJo, GraphPad Prism, and large-scale image data analysis (e.g., cell death and single-cell trajectories).
- Additional assets, practical knowledge of Python.
