Officer in charge of natural hazards
Forests and Natural Hazards Office | 40-80% (job-sharing possible) | Herrschaft/Prettigovia/Davos and Surselva region, workplace: Landquart and/or Ilanz
The Graubünden Forests and Natural Hazards Office (UFP) is the cantonal specialized service for the forest and the protection of people, habitats, and infrastructure from natural hazards. We analyze hazardous processes, develop innovative protection strategies, and support municipalities in planning and implementing effective measures. Thanks to specialized expertise, sustainable solutions, and a strong network, we contribute to the long-term preservation of safety and are committed to ensuring long-term safety and quality of life in the Canton of Graubünden.
For June 1, 2026, or by agreement, we are looking for an officer in charge of natural hazards to support regional specialists in natural hazards.
- Support specialists in natural hazards in the Herrschaft/Prettigovia/Davos and Surselva regions, from planning/design related to hazard assessment, statements on building applications and verification procedures, to the implementation of expert reports and projects for the hazard commission or emergency planning for prevention purposes
- Independent preparation of selected assignments specific to the subject or project and assessments of natural hazards such as avalanches, collapses, landslides, or water
- Preparation and participation in site inspections of the hazard commission, recording results for the hazard commission, and preparation of hazard commission plans
- Support for specialists in natural hazards as well as regional forest engineers in managing events related to natural hazards
- Support for regional forest engineers in recording and monitoring events in the event cadastre
- Higher education (PF, university, SUP or SSS) or equivalent training corresponding to the required profile
- In-depth knowledge in the field of natural hazards and ArcGIS
- You are a motivated, team-oriented, and reliable person
- The working language is generally German; good knowledge of several cantonal languages is an advantage
- Stimulating activity with a direct link to integrated risk management related to natural hazards, nature, and technology
