ICUS for the Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Department
To strengthen its management team, the Department of Medicine (DM) of the CHUV is looking for a Head Nurse of the Care Unit (ICUS) at an 80% activity rate for the Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Department.
The starting date is scheduled for March 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in medical care, medical research, and education.
Attached to the Department of Medicine, the Endocrinology, Diabetology and Metabolism Department specializes in the management of endocrine diseases, diabetes, lipid disorders, as well as eating behavior disorders and nutrition-related issues.
It offers a multidisciplinary, patient-centered approach and cutting-edge clinical practice integrating recent advances in medical research.
Mission
- You ensure the efficiency of patient care and the quality of care provided, respecting institutional frameworks and the mission of the department
- You ensure the planning, supervision, evaluation, and training of a care team
- You lead the unit's care team, organize activities, and monitor their implementation
- You manage patient flow, in collaboration with the unit's responsible physician and other stakeholders
- You organize and supervise training activities for staff, students, and interns.
Profile
- You hold a HES nursing diploma or an equivalent qualification, with mandatory Red Cross recognition for foreign diplomas
- You have completed proximity management training (≥ 300 hours) or a CAS in management (mandatory)
- You have completed or hold a CAS or DAS in the field (an asset)
- You have at least 5 years of experience in adult acute care
- Experience in endocrinology, diabetology, and metabolism is an asset
- You have strong management and supervisory skills
- You are recognized for your leadership, organizational skills, analytical and negotiation abilities
- You are dynamic, with initiative, openness, and decisiveness
- You have excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- You master the IT tools used at CHUV
- You master spoken and written French (level C1)
- Knowledge of a second national language and/or English is an asset.
Depending on the profile, the salary class will be 10 or 11.
