The History Section of the Faculty of Arts at the University of Lausanne is offering a position for a graduate assistant in medieval history.
Job Information
Start date: August 1, 2026
Contract duration: 1 year, renewable 2 x 2 years, maximum 5 years
Work rate: 80%
Workplace: Lausanne-Dorigny
Your Activities
At least 50% of the work rate will be dedicated to completing a doctoral thesis.
Up to 50% of the work rate will be devoted to supporting teaching and research tasks, in the form of:
- collaboration with all medievalist teachers in the history section;
- supervising students during courses or seminars, under the responsibility of a teacher in the section;
- participating in the scientific activities of the medievalists in the section, notably in preparing conferences and developing publications;
- participating in the life of the section including certain administrative tasks insofar as they relate to the teaching and research activities of the medievalists in the section.
Your Profile
University Master’s degree in history or equivalent qualification.
Willingness to develop a thesis in medieval history
Candidates must demonstrate an interest in research and teaching, have good knowledge of Latin and medieval paleography, as well as research experience in documentary sources.
