Specialist in School Social Work 60 - 70%The Kantonsschule Zimmerberg in Au ZH was newly opened in August 2020. In its upcoming seventh year of operation, it is expected to have 25 classes with a total of around 600 students. It offers a long and a short gymnasium with five Matura profiles (classical languages, modern languages, mathematical-natural sciences, economic-legal, as well as philosophical-pedagogical-psychological). In the young, manageable Kantonsschule, personal contact and the individual are at the center.
As part of the introduction of school social work at the Zurich cantonal schools, we are looking for a specialist in school social work starting August 10, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your tasks
As a specialist in school social work, you advise our students on personal, social, and school-related challenges. You promote their integration into the school community and support the teaching team and school management in recognizing psychosocial problems and initiating early interventions.
You maintain good contact with relevant external counseling centers and, in collaboration with the school management and the existing counseling team (school doctor, trusted teachers, career counselor, health commission), build a stage-specific, professionally sound, and needs-based school social work at Kantonsschule Zimmerberg.
Your profile
You are a committed, flexible, and resilient personality with professional experience in school social work (ideally at the gymnasium level) or youth counseling and are interested in the age-typical developments of our students as well as related aspects of mental health. Your communication skills, teamwork, and composure benefit you both in dealing with various stakeholders and in managing challenging situations. With your solution-oriented systemic approach, you can mediate well between different concerns. You are interested in the age-typical developments of our students as well as related aspects of mental health.
You work independently, structured, and reflectively and look forward to helping shape the new support service at our school. Knowledge in concept and project work is an advantage.
A formal requirement for application is a bachelor's degree in social work, combined with further training in school social work (CAS) or a comparable field (CAS).
