The Cantonal Social Office with over 280 employees takes on diverse, controlling, and operational tasks primarily in social assistance, social insurance, social services, and the asylum sector at the interface between the federal government, other cantons, cities, municipalities, and various private organizations. It also operates its own facility, tilia, located in Rheinau.
For the Asylum Coordination Department, we are looking for a temporary specialist assistant for allocation and accommodation, 80%, starting immediately or by arrangement, limited to 6 months.
Your main tasks
- You are responsible for the comprehensive allocation of refugees from the federal asylum centers to the cantonal transit centers and from there to the municipalities.
- You communicate proficiently with internal and external stakeholders.
- You review and process support applications, change notifications, and other administrative reports.
- You independently answer complex questions from internal and external stakeholders and advise asylum seekers at the counter.
Your skills and talents
- You have completed a commercial apprenticeship and preferably further training in the specialist field (professional certificate) and have professional experience ideally in a similar role or in the asylum/migration sector.
- You are an administrative and organizational talent who quickly adapts to changing conditions and new areas of responsibility.
- You enjoy working independently and are interested in complex political issues.
- You have very good oral and written German skills (at least B2) and speak English. Knowledge of languages spoken by current refugee groups is an advantage.
- You communicate actively and enjoy direct exchange at the counter or by phone and have solid MS Office skills.
