The Kantonsschule Wiedikon is a high school with around 1200 students, 200 teachers, various gymnasium profiles, as well as a specialized middle school. For the 2024/25 school year, the Kantonsschule Wiedikon has opened an additional location on Hohlstrasse near Hardbrücke station. Further information can be found at www.kwi.ch
For our two locations, we are looking for a specialist in school social work starting May 11, 2026, or by arrangement.
Your main tasks are prevention, early detection, and intervention in challenges faced by young people, as well as establishing appropriate preventive and participatory structures. You will do this together with the existing team, which consists of another school social worker, a school doctor, and a school counselor.
Your tasks specifically include:
- solution-oriented individual counseling of students as well as advising the school and family systems
- supporting all parties involved in finding optimal solutions and triage to external counseling centers
- advising teachers on group dynamic interventions for prevention and systemic interventions in crises and conflicts within classes
- participation in the development of our school culture
- coaching and support of students with compensatory measures within the framework of self-organization
You are a committed person with professional experience in school social work or youth counseling. With your solution-oriented systemic approach, you mediate well between different concerns.
You work independently, structured, and reflectively and look forward to helping shape the new support offering at Kantonsschule Wiedikon.
Knowledge in concept and project work is an advantage for this role.
Your communication skills, teamwork ability, and resilience are an advantage both in dealing with various stakeholders and in managing crises.
The formal requirements are a bachelor's degree in social work combined with further training in school social work (CAS) or a comparable field (CAS).

Your tasks are varied and characterized by contact with different stakeholders. For professional exchange, you are integrated into a regional team, and cantonal meetings promote knowledge transfer among specialists. During the semesters, you work 70-100% and enjoy 12 weeks of school holidays as compensation.
