Department Head in Criminal Measures Enforcement 80 - 100%Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measures enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention.
The Probation and Enforcement Services (BVD) are one of seven main departments of JuWe. Their work significantly contributes to reducing recidivism and the social reintegration of offenders.
Your area: Enforcement 2
The Enforcement 2 (V2) area comprises around 50 employees in various specialist fields, from case management of inpatient and outpatient sanctions to probation assistance, administration, legal services, and prevention offers.
For this versatile area, we are looking for an experienced leader with good communication skills and the competence to consider complex interests.
In this role, you shape culture, collaboration, and professionalism in an interdisciplinary environment and actively design structures and processes.
This is your field of activity
- Overall responsibility for the professional, personnel, organizational, and financial management of the Enforcement 2 area, with six directly subordinate managers
- Ensuring legally compliant, professional, and effective fulfillment of the mandate in line with the overarching goals of JuWe and BVD
- Close cooperation with department heads and active promotion of constructive and interdisciplinary collaboration
- Strategic further development of the area and active participation in the BVD management team
- Promotion of cross-departmental collaboration and representation of the area in internal and external committees
- Ensuring quality development and efficient resource use as well as leading central projects
What you bring
- Master’s degree in law, psychology, social work, or a comparable discipline
- At least three years of leadership experience and several years of professional experience in the relevant field
- Ideally, you have experience in coercive, forensic, or comparable regulated environments (e.g., KESB, social welfare)
- Strong understanding of criminal and administrative law issues, especially in the context of case management
- Strategic thinking skills, focus on culture development and communication at eye level
- Your reputation is impeccable (no entries in the criminal record or debt collection register)
