District Forester from Rigi to the City of Lucerne (a)
80% - 100% | Sursee | from 01.01.2026 or by arrangement
Would you like to actively shape the future of our forests with your experience – between the Queen of the Mountains and the urban area of Lucerne? You can expect a young, open team with room for ideas, exchange across the entire region – and a culture where team spirit is truly lived.
Your tasks
- In the Rigi area as well as the municipalities of Lucerne, Horw (lake), Meggen, Adligenswil and Udligenswil, you take over the sovereign enforcement of forest legislation – for 1,925 ha of forest, including 723 ha of protection forest and 626 ha of nature priority areas.
- Together with the operational foresters, you plan measures in protection forest, biodiversity and forest protection – and implement them with the four forest owner organizations.
- With your expertise, you develop cross-ownership concepts for sustainable, near-natural forest management – and advise the forest owner organizations.
- A topic you can help shape: As the cantonal representative, you supervise the Rigi Protection Forest Maintenance Cooperative, further develop structures and contribute your expertise to the board and organization.
- You work closely with various cantonal offices, municipalities, specialist offices and hunting societies – especially as a contact person for the collection of forestry data on forest and wildlife.
Your profile
- You have training as a federally certified forester HF or forest engineer FH as well as experience in protection forest maintenance and biodiversity promotion.
- Your focus is clearly on sovereign, public tasks – not on pure operational work.
- You enjoy working independently as well as actively contributing, communicating openly and shaping professional exchange.
- Good knowledge of MS Office and ideally GIS are part of your toolkit. You continuously develop your expertise and stay up to date.
- You appreciate when tasks can evolve – and bring openness to change, new topics or priorities.
