Justice Enforcement and Reintegration (JuWe) is part of the Directorate of Justice and the Interior of the Canton of Zurich and is responsible for criminal and measure enforcement as well as the implementation of various types of detention. For our 1,400 employees from around 40 professions, the successful social reintegration of offenders and the prevention of recidivism are of particular importance.
The Correctional Facilities Zurich (VEZ) are one of eight main departments of JuWe. In the four detention facilities of the VEZ, persons are held in closed and open enforcement, semi-detention, as well as in administrative detention under foreign law.
As of March 1, 2026, we are looking for a proven leader as the new director of the VEZ.
Your area of responsibility
- With empathy, energy, and entrepreneurial spirit, you lead the Correctional Facilities Zurich
- Together with your management team, you foster a potential-oriented leadership and collaboration culture and further develop the VEZ professionally, organizationally, and based on scientific findings
- You are a member of the JuWe executive management and play a key role in overarching tasks such as implementing digital transformation or further developing the justice enforcement system
- You network in professional committees and nationwide working groups, in criminal enforcement concordats, maintain contacts with interdisciplinary partners such as the Migration Office or the Cantonal Police, and represent the interests of justice enforcement and the VEZ in public
Your profile
- You have a degree in social, psychological, or legal fields with additional training in leadership, public management, or similar
- As an experienced leader, you bring leadership and management qualities. You provide orientation and are familiar with contemporary leadership and organizational forms. If you also know the justice enforcement system: even better
- You think strategically, are implementation-strong, and gladly take responsibility. Additionally, you have high conceptual skills and experience managing complex projects
- You possess high social competence, emotional stability, composure, and excellent communication skills
- Your reputation is impeccable
Our offer
- At JuWe, you take on a responsible position with a high degree of independence
- Work in a socially highly relevant and interdisciplinary field and have the opportunity to play a significant role
- Numerous design and development opportunities await you as well as the chance to actively shape the culture of JuWe
- Attractive employment conditions according to cantonal guidelines
