Your new role
Social pedagogical family support (SPF) as an important outreach service is becoming increasingly significant for promoting the welfare of the child. Within the framework of a project initially limited to three years, this service has been newly established within the Social Services of the City of St.Gallen.
As a member of the SPF team, you provide social pedagogical family support and counseling, educational assistance and support on behalf of professional guardians as well as the Child and Adult Protection Authority (KESB). Children and parents receive support at home with family and personal issues. You work towards agreed goals with parents and situationally with adolescents and children. You conduct assessments on site, carry out assignment clarification and status discussions, and maintain close communication with the commissioning authorities.
You are suitable for this specialist position if
- You have a degree in social pedagogy FH/HF, social work, clinical or school special education, or an equivalent qualification.
- You have already gained professional experience in outreach work with children, adolescents, and families and ideally have completed relevant further training.
- You are characterized by an independent working style and commitment.
- You are empathetic and reflective as well as solution- and goal-oriented in your work.
- You possess strong communication and counseling skills.
- You have flexibility in organizing your working hours and are willing to work evenings and weekends.
