Data Platform Engineer (m/f/x) – 80-100%

The Data & Analytics division is looking for an engineer to participate in the implementation and evolution of the platform.

In a rapidly evolving IT environment, you will join a distributed agile team committed to best practices such as pull requests, observability, and brown bag meetings. Driven by a culture of continuous improvement, we place great importance on technological watch and ongoing training.

The tasks awaiting you:

• Build data products (Data Mesh approach): streaming and data pipelines for ingestion, transformation, enhancement, and exposure in an Azure Cloud environment
• Technology stacks: Python, Java Spring Boot, Kafka Cloud, KSQL, Azure Event Hubs, MongoDB, Kubernetes, Databricks, APIM, Terraform, Grafana
• Collaborate with Product Management and Architecture teams on the design, validation, implementation, and evolution of the technical architecture of the data platform
• Participate in the validation of business specifications related to our data products, in the breakdown and specification of development tasks (backlog management / refinement)
• Share your expertise on technologies in our various communities of practice and contribute to the evolution of our company’s development standards
• Collaborate with security, infrastructure, and compliance teams to ensure a high level of availability, monitoring, security, and data protection
• Model data (e.g., canonical model, Data Vault), in collaboration with Architecture and Data Governance teams
• Study and implement solutions aimed at improving data quality and reliability.
• Participate in agile development ceremonies (scrum)
• Proactively improve the technical and software architecture to minimize technical debt and maximize agility

Your profile:

• Higher education in computer science such as HES, Bachelor / Master EPFL or equivalent. A Master’s degree is an asset
• Minimum 3 years of development experience: Python & Java Spring Boot
• Minimum 2 years of development and integration experience on the Microsoft Azure platform: Messaging (Kafka Cloud, Event Hub), Data processing (Data Factory, Databricks), Containerization (Docker, AKS) & APIM
• Good knowledge in data modeling and access patterns (API, streaming)
• Functional knowledge in the insurance field will be considered an asset
• Languages: Fluent French (minimum C1) and English minimum B2
