Care and Community Health Assistant at the Pediatric Emergency Department
The Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME) of the CHUV is looking for a care and community health assistant (ASSC) with a workload between 80% and 100% to join the pediatric emergency team at the Children's Hospital in Lausanne. The starting date is scheduled for May 1, 2026, or to be agreed upon.
Context
The Lausanne University Hospital (CHUV) is one of the five Swiss university hospitals. Thanks to its collaboration with the Faculty of Biology and Medicine of the University of Lausanne and EPFL, it plays a leading role in the fields of care, medical research, and education.
Within the Women-Mother-Child Department (DFME), the Pediatrics Service provides comprehensive and multidisciplinary care for children and adolescents from 0 to 18 years old. It works closely with other department services, including neonatology, pediatric surgery, adolescent medicine, gynecology, and obstetrics.
The Pediatric Emergency Department, open 24/7, handles all pediatric medical emergencies in a demanding, stimulating environment focused on the needs of the child and their family.
Mission
- You work within an interdisciplinary team composed of nurses, specialized nurses, ASSCs, doctors, and secretaries
- You responsibly and autonomously support patients through the different stages of their care
- You ensure the execution and monitoring of care delegated by qualified staff
- You provide, by delegation, medical-technical acts as part of patient care
- You perform administrative and logistical tasks related to your activity, mainly linked to patient care.
Profile
This position would suit a dynamic person with interpersonal skills and a sense of responsibility.
- You hold an ASSC Federal Certificate of Competence (CFC)
- You have experience in pediatrics, an asset
- You have experience in making casts or are interested in developing this skill
- You are dynamic, organized, rigorous, and adaptable
- You enjoy teamwork
- You are ready to work irregular hours (12-hour shifts during the week, weekends, and nights)

Depending on profile and experience, the salary level will be between 5 and 6.
